![]() ![]() I've taken it everywhere to uni, to my weekly hikes in the crags, to my half-day walks all around the city, etc. I'm not sure if my example is representative of the average Baltic Blue leather case, but I've owned it since release and it actually looks EXACTLY the same as it did out of the box. However, now that it's been a while since release, I was wondering if anyone here has actually been using the Magsafe Charger with their leather cases? I basically want to know if the official pic of the imprint that Apple provided is actually accurate in regard to regular/long-term (ik it's only been 3 weeks, but still want to check) use of Magsafe Charging? In other words, how does the "damage" look now, is it actually more noticeable now?Īgain, I'll probably use Magsafe anyways even if the imprint is kinda "worse" than predicted, but I'd like to just know what it truly looks like before I buy the charger. The official Apple site also has an old pic from the beginning of November that shows this "damage." If this is what the imprint really looks like, it's honestly not bad at all and it makes sense since it's leather anyways. I've been considering using a MagSafe Charger just for the extra (very-slight) convenience.īut as everyone knows, Apple has already said that Magsafe Charging will leave an imprint on the leather iPhone cases. I use the iPhone 12 Pro as well as the official Apple "Baltic Blue" Leather Case, which released a little more than three weeks ago. /r/iOSSetups for iOS wallpapers, setups, and apps./r/AppleSwap if you want to trade devices!.Keep an eye on temporarily free or discounted apps on /r/AppHookup!.Your iPhone broke? (Nomad made a water-resistant leather case for the iPhone 11 series called the Active Rugged, but it is not currently available for the 12 lineup.)Īnd, of course, if you like your luxe case to stay pristine, just avoid leather altogether. However, I shudder to think what might happen if it got submerged. I’ve set the case down on a kitchen and a bathroom counter where it picked up some moisture, but it was quickly absorbed and left no stain. The Horween leather also is not particularly water resistant. This also means that the cutout for the Lightning port on the bottom of the case is relatively thick, which might create problems if you’ve got a cable or connector with a thick base. While it doesn’t add a lot of bulk, on a big phone like the 12 Pro Max, it makes the device even chunkier. Those who prefer a very thin case may want to shy away from the Rugged Case. The phone tumbled end-over-end across the ground and when it came to a rest, the screen was unbroken but the case’s corners looked as though they’d been chewed. I once had an all-leather iPhone case that I dropped in a parking garage that had a roughened concrete floor. That’s not always true for leather cases that lack a bumper made of tough material. The result is a case that can survive a 10-foot drop and still come out looking great. The rest of the frame is made of polycarbonate and rubber, and its inside is lined with microfiber cloth. On the black and dark brown versions, the TPU bumper is black on the natural version, it’s an off-white. The leather on the back extends to just beyond the curve of the edge, and the TPU picks up from there to the front. The Rugged Case comes in three colors: dark brown, black, and “natural”, which is a light brown. The Nomad Goods AirPods Pro Rugged Case is $35, and like the Rugged Case for the iPhone 12 line.
